Underbelly Lookbooks!!!

About to pick up lookbooks from the printers tomorrow! This is a photo they sent me. So excited!

I haven't been blogging quite as much, mostly due to my computer getting old and rickety, and fashion week activities kicking my butt. Though soon there will be a barrage of posts when all the show photos and the lookbook photos start coming in!

The premier of my Fall/Winter 2014 collection will take place at the Holy Apostle's Ballroom in NYC on February 13th, 2014. This event is called Fashion Week Benefit, and ticket sales go to support the charity love146.org.

Leggings!

I have been busy as a little bee making lots of leggings! I always incorporate leggings into my collections, but now I am focusing more on them, as I have been wearing them as a staple rather than an accessory. 

My leggings are $40 each, or 3 pairs for $100, and I offer sizes XS (0-2), S (4-6), M (8-10), L(12-14), and XL (16-20). Keep in mind they are verrry stretchy, and I have been told that my XL size comfortably fits someone who considers herself a 1X.

Leggings are shown in size small on Psyche Chimere, and medium on Ivy Dominique.

My Trip to New Orleans

I usually get out of town when I don't have to worry about fashion week, and I recently took a very inspiring trip to New Orleans. The best part was the chapel of St. Roch's Cemetery. The chapel had a hauntingly spare beauty, but the truly striking part was a tiny room to the right of the altar that contained letters, plaster limbs, locks of hair, and medical braces of all sorts. I could write for hours about the tangible feeling of innumerable entities having been there through the years to offer thanks or beg for help.

Sometimes when I take a trip, I know that at some point I will be presented with an unavoidable opportunity to unearth the deepest parts of myself. This tiny room gave rise to raw emotions that I shared with those who came to that place before me.

I'm inspired to reach for more vulnerable places in my work because of this experience. I'll let the photos explain the rest.
